El mes pasado hablamos sobre entender cómo usamos nuestro tiempo…. y, como bien alguien dijo, cuando tenemos demasiadas tareas asignadas en el trabajo o en la casa, podemos sentir que que no depende de nosotros directamente organizarnos para tener más tiempo. En esos casos, y cuando nos sentimos incómodos al respecto, para aumentar nuestro tiempo libre, necesitamos conversar con quienes compartimos esos espacio para generar nuevos acuerdos respecto a las tareas que son responsabilidad de todos los integrantes que pertenecen a él (quizás los anteriores se generaron en la práctica, sin hablarse).
Entonces, como la memoria es frágil, las percepciones pueden estar desconectadas de la realidad y todos creemos-queremos tener la razón, es que este mes voy a compartir un dato (nerd): en un horario o calendario de tareas, registrar el tiempo dedicado a una tarea o las tareas realizadas, asignando un color distinto a lo realizado por cada persona que sea parte del trato.
La idea es que se vaya llenando el horario o calendario a medida que los tiempos o tareas se vayan completando y, de esta manera, al cabo de unos días, tendrán una idea más clara de la realidad y esto les ayudará a ordenarse. Este es un primer paso para hacerlo, así que si ya cuentas con un nivel más avanzado y justo de organización, sería bueno de todas maneras registrar para luego (con papel en mano) discutir el cómo resolver la distribución de tareas y horarios, considerando que hay unos que son más pesados que otros.
Lo bueno de esto es que, al entenderse más o menos a simple vista la información, ayuda a abrir conversaciones sobre la distribución de los quehaceres… para quienes creen que en su caso será difícil hablar al respecto, el hecho de que se note a simple vista quién está dedicando más tiempo/esfuerzo, puede hacer que las otras personas empiecen a hacer cambios solas. Lo ideal sería conversar, pero no todos estarán abiertos para hacerlo.

Last month we talked about understanding how we use our time … and, as someone said, sometimes, when we have too many tasks assigned at home or at work, we can feel that it is not directly up to us to move things around in order to have more time for us. In those cases, and when feeling uncomfortable about it, to gain more free time, we need to talk with the people we share those spaces with to create new agreements about the tasks all of you are responsible for (maybe the previos ones, were generated in practice, without talking about it).
So, as memory is fragile, perceptions could be disconnected from reality and we all believe-want to be right, this month I will share a piece of (nerd) information: in a schedule or task calendar, record the time dedicated to a task or the performed tasks, using a different color to represent what is done by each person who is part of the deal.
The idea is to fill the schedule or calendar as the times or tasks are completed, so after a few days, you will have a clearer idea of what is happening and this will help you to get organized. This is a first step to do it, so if you already have a more advanced and fair level of organization, it would be good to register and then (with paper in hand) discuss how to solve the distribution of tasks and schedules, considering the difficulty level of them.
What I like about this is that, as you can get a general picture with a glance, it helps to open conversations about the distribution of chores … for those who believe that it will be hard to talk about it, the fact that it shows the time/effort dedicated by everyone, could help other people start making changes by themselves. The best would be to talk about it, but not everyone will be open to do so.
